How It Works
When should I expect my portrait?
At the time of booking, I will provide you with an approximate time frame of when you can expect to receive your portrait. It usually takes between 15 and 20 days to complete a portrait.
Do you provide progress updates of my portrait?
I will then inform you when I am ready to start giving you progress images and updates as I go. I will not upload any of these images on social media should the portrait be a secret gift.
How should I photograph my pet?
Know that I will give you guidance to pick the best photo of your pet! It all begins with a good clear reference photograph of your furry friend.
It is ideal to take the photo with a camera. You can also take the photo with your mobile phone if the images are HD and high quality.
Photos must not be pixelated. They must be clear and show the eyes of your pet as much as possible. Reflections in the eyes that show the truest colour work brilliantly!
Make sure to capture whiskers, hairs and prominent markings. Take poses of your pet that you feel capture their true character.
Usually, the best photos are taken outside in a shaded area with natural light. Try to take the photo by positioning yourself at the same height as your pet, with them looking directly at or close to the camera and sitting still.
Avoid flash in the eyes and red eye
Make sure you send the photos in their original format. Do not crop or edit the photos as this can decrease the size and the resolution of the image.
Send the images as an attachment to my e-mail info@slfineart.co.uk
What if I am unable to take a photo of my pet?
For various reasons, it might be that you are unable to take a photo of your pet. In this case, I will do my best to work with the photos you have to create the best outcome.
Please note that in order to create the best possible outcome, I can only work from good quality photos. This in turn reserves me the right to turn down a sample that I judge to be not suitable for the art process.
